Garth Wells ISC

Garth Wells is the Hibbitt Professor of Solid Mechanics at the University of Cambridge. He received his undergraduate degree in engineering from The University of Western Australia and PhD from Delft University of Technology. Before joining University of Cambridge in 2007, he held a faculty position at Delft University of Technology and post-doctoral positions at Stanford University and The University of Texas at Austin. His research is the supported by the UK Excascale Computing programme ‘ExCALIBUR’ (https://excalibur.ac.uk/), and he is a strong advocate for open-source scientific software and open programming models and specifications.
